First, we got up early on Saturday and it was still dark!  We drove to the airport and the lines were really long!!  Daddy and Mommy didn’t plan on it being Spring Break week!  They closed the door to the plane, but the screeners had to look at Addison’s backpack THREE TIMES.  Daddy was worried that they weren’t going to get on the plane.   Mommy and I sat together by a nice girl in the back of the plane.  The girl was very nice, and showed me lots of things out the window.  Daddy and Addison sat at the front of the plane [by a woman that wasn’t very nice]. After we landed in Oakland, we got on the shuttle bus to go to the rental agency.  Then we picked out a very cool car.  It was red, with a little thingy that told us the directions on the mirror [Editor’s note: a digital compass].  I told Daddy that there was a place to put more luggage under the cargo area, but Daddy thought it was a seat.  We were both wrong!  It was the place for the spare tire.  After lunch at a Chinese place [Panda Express], we went to check out our hotel.  We didn’t like it so much!  Went to another hotel, and it couldn’t be rentable, so we [went to Daddy’s office and] found a new hotel.  It was perfect!  Just like home.  It has an upstairs and a downstairs, it has two beds, two bathrooms, two couches, three TVs, and a kitchen.  It has everything we need in a kitchen.

After we got checked in to our hotel, we decided to drive to the beach.  When we got in the middle, we went up a high hill and got in the clouds!  We could see the beach we were going to, and we took this picture.  [Editor’s note:  it was actually a lake we passed on the way.]    We stopped at a state park.  There we saw some seagulls.  The girls have a spot on their beaks, and the boys don’t.

This page is of me getting soaked.  There were big waves; at first as tall as me, then as tall as a refrigerator, then as tall as a door!  I played in the sand, digging holes.  Then I fell in the water!!  I got sand all over me, and we went home [back to the hotel], and I took a shower, and we went t bed. [Addison got very cold, as we got to the ocean just as a rain system was moving in.  She lasted about 20 minutes, then went to the car to wait for Bubby to finish playing.]

 First we arrived at the zoo.  We saw some ducks, some hairy pigs [warthogs?], a new born lamb (March 15th four days old!), a donkey, lemur, jaguar, guinea pigs, a giant tortoise, and many more animals.
